One of Glashütte Original's most important assets . . .

. . . is their  service department, which is essential for those of us who hold onto our watches for the long-term.  I was crestfallen last July when my first Karree perpetual seized up after over three years of continuous operation [note to John: I got your message - no more winders!], and had to send my favorite G O back home for rehabilitation.  I asked my colleague at G O if they would consider taking photos during the overhaul so that we could all see the process, and René was happy to oblige.  This first photo is of the watch as it arrived in Glashütte . . .

The rotor, hands, and dial are disassembled next . . .





The module bridge is opened . . .




. . . and the calendar mechanism is then tested.
