GO Fish: Glashuette Original with Singapore Friends

By: Kong (registered) Sunday, May 4th, 2008 - Photo Nav: View All 1 photo(s)

Our hosts were Dr Frank Muller and David Ponzo of SWATCH Group.

The location was Long Beach (Seafood) Restaurant @ Dempsey; the former British Army camp.

The guests were watch-friends of Glashuette Original:   Customers, Moderators from three horology websites and Journalists from TimeWerke magazine in Singapore.

There was little notice: got a telephone call on Friday afternoon saying Dr Muller was in town and we all turned up the next evening. It had been a sweltering, tropical day so the mugs of Tiger Beer were very welcomed.

All the usual "watch" crowd from the old days were there - it was like a school reunion smile

Much admired for it's unobtainability and premium pricing anywhere else in the world.

PHOTO SESSION

With Peter Chong, Harry Tan, SJX, Kok Choon and Zach Toh toting half-a-trolley full of photography equipment around, things soon got out of hand as they set up an impromptu photo session with 1, 2, 3 and finally 4 flash-gun set-up.

Genii was the congenial 'model' sporting a number of different watches.

REST OF US

Whilst the photographers were playing with their toys, the rest of us were enjoying the company, drinking a little wine, talking about watches and just having fun as watch friends.

Our thanks to GO and SWATCH Group for bringing some of the Singapore Watch Friends together with a lovely meal.

Also thanks to all participants for their company and watch talk.

Our personal thanks and photo-credits to Harry Tan, SJX and TimeWerke Magazine that helped with this account of the evening.

Regards,

MTF & Kong
