He said changes were made to increase the robustness of the movement, iirc. It was nice to have him explain. Of course, maybe there are other things we can point to.

Why does there need to be a sacrifice of finishing for performance? Could there not been a better compromise?

When released in 2019, the Gravity Equal Force line started at CHF 16 900. Very, very competitive for an original movement with the original level of finishing. Even with the simplified bridges, the current starting price of CHF 20 000 is very competitive...

They’re still very well priced for what they are. I think the price is fair relative to competition in the same range.
